Veterinary clinic website development
I build websites for veterinary clinics: urgent contact and opening status visible first, pages by species and specialisation, and preventive care content that brings owners in early.

What the site includes
Urgent contact above everything else
Phone, current opening status and directions visible in the first screen, on mobile, without scrolling. A live open/closed indicator based on your actual hours is straightforward to build — I've implemented exactly that for a client whose customers check before travelling.
Pages by species and specialisation
Separate paths for the animals you treat and the specialisations you offer. Owners of exotics, in particular, search for clinics that take their animal specifically — and find only clinics that said so.
Procedure pages with price guidance
The procedures owners actually search for, each explained: what it involves, how long recovery takes, what it costs or what range to expect. This is the content that both ranks and reduces the calls that only ask about price.
Preventive care explained
Vaccination schedules, routine check-ups, what a young animal needs and when. This content brings owners in before there's a problem, which is also when a lasting relationship starts.
Booking for routine visits
Appointments for check-ups and vaccinations handled online, keeping the phone line free for the calls that genuinely need it. Messenger as an alternative path, which I've built for other clients where clients prefer it.
Local search visibility
LocalBusiness structured data, correct address and hours, pages for the areas you serve — the signals that decide whether you appear when someone nearby searches for a vet.
A website used at the worst moment of someone's week
Veterinary websites are visited under conditions that don't apply to most businesses. A significant share of visits happen when someone is frightened about an animal, often late in the evening, on a phone, with no patience for navigation. That single fact should shape the entire structure: whether you're open right now, the phone number and how to reach you belong in the first thing a visitor sees, not behind a menu.
The rest of the site serves a calmer visitor, and there the structure differs from human healthcare in a specific way. Owners don't search by treatment first — they search by animal. A person with a rabbit or a parrot looks for a clinic that treats rabbits or parrots, because plenty don't, and a clinic that hasn't said so simply isn't in that search. Species and specialisation pages catch searches that a general services page cannot.
Price is unavoidable here in a way many clinics wish it weren't. Veterinary care is paid for directly, often unexpectedly, and owners search for specific procedures alongside their cost. A clinic that gives a range for common procedures does two things at once: it appears in those searches, and it stops fielding calls that were only ever about price.
Then there's preventive care, which is where the long-term value sits. Vaccination schedules, what a young animal needs and when, routine checks by age — this content reaches owners before anything is wrong. That's both the moment a relationship with a clinic begins and, increasingly, the kind of question people put to an AI assistant rather than a search box, which makes clear structured content on your own site worth more than it used to be.
One part deserves particular care rather than optimisation. Every clinic offers services around the end of an animal's life, and those pages need a different register entirely — quiet, factual, without marketing language. Handling that well says something about a practice that no amount of copy about compassion can.
How the work goes
We discuss the clinic
Which animals you treat, your specialisations, your hours including any emergency cover, and how owners reach you now.
I design the structure
What appears first for an urgent visitor, how species and specialisations are separated, where preventive care content sits, and how routine booking works.
Build and optimise
Design, development, opening status and local markup, booking, procedure pages, speed.
Launch and support
The site goes live, your team manages hours, prices and content, and I stay available as the clinic grows.
